Drop

My nephew is truly the sweetest little boy I know! His bright smile and infectious laughter can light up any room, and every moment spent with him is a treasure. One of the most endearing things about him is how he reacts when I greet him. Whenever I pick him up and carry him around, he has this amusing habit of not holding on to me at all. Instead, he seems to almost dangle in my arms, his tiny body relaxed and carefree. It’s a curious sight, and it makes me wonder about what goes through his little mind in those moments. Did he perhaps think that I would never drop him, no matter what? Or was it simply a case of him being a lazy 1-year-old, enjoying the ride without any effort? The thought of him trusting me so implicitly is both heartwarming and a bit perplexing. I find it odd that he would do this every single time I picked him up, as if he had no concern for the world around him. Maybe, just maybe, he has an innate sense of security and comfort when he’s with me, believing that I would always keep him safe. This trust is something truly special, and it makes me reflect on the bond we share. Each time I lift him into the air, I feel a profound sense of responsibility, knowing that I must always be there to support him, both physically and emotionally. It’s a reminder of how precious these early years are, filled with innocence and a deep-rooted trust that is so easily formed between a child and their loved ones. Watching him dangle in my arms, I can’t help but smile, cherishing the moments we have together, filled with joy and love.
